Is Google Dead?

Google Rebrands Itself As ALPHABET!!!

Fun times ahead!

Google is taking significant steps in facing out the old and bringing in the new.

I call it a “Shake-up”. It is indeed a profound shake–up. The Tech giants “Google” announced on Monday 10th August 2015 about a major reorganization. This will cover a name change, corporate and management restructuring. This should not come as much surprise especially if you are familiar with the words of Sergey BinGoogle is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one”

This move is a breath of fresh of air for the investors who would have greater insight on how their money is used or sent. It will allow investors have access to the Crux of "Google’s business".

Worried about your Google’s shares? Oh well, Google shares will automatically convert to Alphabet shares but will continue to trade under same stock sticker GOOG & GOOGL.

I understand if you are still in dark as to what is really happening here! I can read your thought!! Hehehehe... I am not psychic, far from it. But I can just imagine the thoughts scrambling for attention in your mind right now.

Here is something that will give you a clearer picture of what this “Profound Shake-up” is about, it is similar to Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway where it wholly owns a number of properties and has stakes in several others.

Here’s what the management structure will be like, Sergey Brin is no longer a Co-founder of Google but The President of Alphabet while Larry Page will’s be its CEO. Eric Schmidt will be the executive chairman of Alphabet and my very own David Drummond is the chief legal officer and secretary.

Overall, I think this is a positive news and I bet you “then Google now Alphabet” has some killer things coming up.

So I can conclude by saying “The name Google may be dead but its legacy yet lives and Alphabet rides on its wings.

The price of doing the same old thing is far higher than the price of change - Bill Clinton

  1. Would love to see how this change would better the lives of people around the world. BMW is already gearing for a showdown cos they have a subsidiary with the name Alphabet.

    1. Yes, I am optimistic that it will, Sergey has given us a clue when he said " Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one". There will be changes, positive changes
