Sights And Sound Insights

There is a difference between having sight (visual) and having insight on a matter. Most people confuse both and use them interchangeably.

It will be very unhelpful to use these wrongly. Not meaning to bore you or lecture you but I would really like to ignite a flame of understanding in this regard because knowing the difference will truly be invaluable.

Sight and Insight is a secret weapon that a few Top Secret Spies are privy to.

Sight as many may say is the faculty or power of seeing. It is also the sense through which someone becomes aware of light or color by using his/her eyes. It could also mean the visual ability to resolve fine detail. In some instances, it could be mean your mental perception.

The fact that you have sight doesn't guarantee your insight on a issue. Having insight takes a little more that seeing "bright lights and neon signs".

Insight is to understand in a clear way. It is penetrating mental vision. It is also an instance of apprehending the true nature of a thing.

What insight offers that sight doesn't is that deep rooted understanding, fountain of knowledge, information, direction and power.

There are several ways to view insight; financial insight, marketing insight, spiritual insight, mental insight etc. And most people see it as new information. While this may be correct, it goes beyond this. 

Insight it is the realization that what you thought was true is actually false. And when this happens you have a "Light Bulb Moment".... peep!

This is a powerful tool for change because it shifts how you think, feel and act. It is pretty rare.

Insight consists of the 3 Ws: What, Why and WOW

If you know what people are doing but not why they are doing it, it’s called an observation. It is not an insight as we cannot be sure of the motivation behind the act.

Observations can only be laddered up to INSIGHT by asking further questions.

And that WOW moment is when everything comes together i.e. when it all adds up. It’s such times that people are astounded by your work or discovery.
